The inclined lift “Weltcup-Express” located right next to the Schwarzwandbahn mountain station carries you onto the Gamskogel, which is not just the site of the spectacular World Cup slope, but furthermore features a legendarily beautiful vantage point. We can thank the World Cup Finals 2002 for the highest point accessible by ski lift of the entire Salzburger Sportwelt. Back then, the downhill race slope was expanded by the extremely steep start slope on the Gamskogel.
Challenging piste for races: the Gamskogel start slope
Once you’ve reached the vantage point, you’ll understand why the World Cup start slope is only open to racers. Ski pros look down a very steep descent – all while you’re comfortably enjoying the mountain air and the mega panorama from the Gamskogel. Afterwards, you travel back down again to the starting point of your adventure via inclined lift. Tip: Don’t forget your camera, as a panoramic picture from the starting point of the World Cup slope certainly is a very special souvenir!
The Weltcup-Express is open during main season in fair weather (except during race preparations and World Cup races)!
